The “Weave my Light” project was born in a time of chaos when COVID-19 had swept the world. It was an attempt to find some kind of hope lurking in everyday life while confronting the fear of an uncertain future. In a world hazy with smoke and rain, it was as if one could see trees and mountains in a single leaf. As if one could see the endless sea in the blink of a river’s surface at night. As if one could find the light of tomorrow in the evening sky on a day when one’s tears seem to run down. In a closed, small world, one could look at the familiar and sense the infinite that lies beyond it. I was sensing it.

We still face many challenges today. War, economic insecurity, climate change, frequent natural disasters, and the slander and division of social networking. In a world overflowing with ephemeral and stimulating information, where should we look for peace of mind? What is true salvation? It may not be in the visible splendor or material wealth, but in the quiet radiance that lurks in our daily lives. A small act of kindness extended by someone, a moment filled with empathy, or a connection that grows out of a gentle dialogue. By paying attention to these often overlooked things and carefully weaving them together, we may be able to find hope.
