New Artist | Avechan: Capturing the Imperfect Beauty of Flowers

We’re thrilled to welcome photographer Avechan to Aflo Gallery.

With a unique vision rooted in his garden, Avechan cultivates not just flowers, but stories of resilience, individuality, and fleeting beauty.

In his own words:

“In my garden, I welcome the appearance of unsightly flowers without overdoing it. This is because I feel that fun and strength emerge from the individual differences that are not found in the flowers on the market.”

Rather than arranging bouquets in the usual way, he bundles flowers letting their character shine and capturing the moment when life is quietly changing. As he explains:

“Bouquets are sometimes classified as still life, but in reality flowers change continuously depending on the light, temperature and water conditions. It would be my greatest pleasure if you could feel the beauty overflowing from that limited life.”

His approach challenges our expectations of perfection in nature and art, inviting us to pause and consider the subtle transformations happening all around us.

Avechan’s work has been recognised with multiple awards, including a Bronze in the 2022 PX3 – Prix de la Photographie Paris (Nature/Flower category) and 1st place in the 2021 International Photography Awards (Nature/Flower). He has also taken part in group exhibitions such as the 2024 Japan Advertising Photographers’ Association show at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.

At Aflo Gallery, you’ll find a selection of his masterpieces. Blooms, seeds, dried petals, and bundles that quietly testify to nature’s softness and strength. Each print invites you to reflect on impermanence and transformation.

We invite you to explore Avechan’s collection. Meet his flowers that might otherwise be overlooked, and bring one into your space as a reminder of life’s ever-changing beauty.
