Takahiro Toh

Takahiro Toh was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and spent much of his childhood in Australia, Canada, and the UK. He later moved to Tokyo to attend university, and in 2015 he purchased his first camera, marking the beginning of his journey as a photographer.

He initially focused on capturing moments at major theme parks. However, after exploring aerial night photography from helicopters, he rediscovered the allure of urban landscapes and shifted his focus to street photography in 2019.

In 2021, he officially became a member of VoidTokyo, a collective of street photographers. In 2023, he achieved a major milestone by winning the Sony World Photography Awards National category, becoming the first Japanese photographer in six years to win in the street photography category.
