Ichigoichie

Ichigoichie (151-e) is a photographic duo formed by Yuto Emori and Yuki Kijima.

In their everyday lives, they are drawn to fleeting moments, quietness, spaces in between, and emotions that escape language. Rooted in the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection and transience, Yuto and Yuki capture these subtle presences and translate them into images and words. At the core of their work lies the belief that what seems ordinary is often irreplaceably precious. They shine light on the imperfect, on things that have slipped through someone’s hands, and on those moments at the edge of forgetting. This practice is not only an act of expression, but a quiet form of prayer.

The name Ichigoichie is drawn from the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony. It reminds us that each encounter is singular and unrepeatable, worthy of reverence and care. With this sensibility, Ichigoichie approaches photography as a gentle ritual: weaving stories into each frame as if honoring a once-in-a-lifetime meeting.
