Kirimare

Kirimare is Naoto’s alter ego. He travels the Japanese countryside with his vintage bike, capturing the beauty of silent ports, the gentle sunset light kissing the grasslands of Kansai and the narrow alleys and railroad stations of lived-in country towns.

There is beauty in details, and Kirimare is a master at isolating them in his images, creating evocative spaces within his frames. His work has a nostalgic feel, with gentle blues and warm reds that bring the viewer back to a Japan frozen in time, to places changed by humans but almost abandoned and silent.
